14 Years Behind the Camera
I’ve spent 14 years building a career as a freelance videographer and photographer, working alongside agencies, PR firms and production companies to help represent some of the biggest brands in Australia.
Every one of those relationships comes down to the same thing: trust. You’ve already done the hard work of gaining the trust of the client and deciding what they need — my job is to turn up and deliver it to the highest standard that exceeds the clients expectations and reflects well on everyone involved.
That trust starts before I even arrive. I take the time to research the client and look at their past content — previous videos, campaigns, the way they’ve told their story — so I walk in already understanding what “good” looks like for them.
Working with Me
Working with me is straightforward. A few things I make sure of on every job:
- Arriving properly briefed, researched, and ready to go
- Being someone your client is genuinely comfortable having in the room — not just competent behind the camera, but easy company
- Staying flexible whenever the situation calls for it
- Getting footage back to you quickly, in the format you need, without you having to chase me for it
None of that is complicated. It’s mostly just doing what I say I’ll do, on time, without drama.
A Background in TV
Alongside the freelance corporate work, I’ve spent time in broadcast television as a camera operator, shooter/producer, shooter/director and stills photographer.
Most people assume a TV production means a large crew and a big budget behind every shot. On shows like Grand Designs Australia, the reality was one person handling the camera, the interview, the audio and story direction — and that person was me. It’s the same instinct I bring to every corporate shoot: complete ownership of the story, start to finish.

A lot of that work, particularly as a shooter/producer, meant sitting down everyday people — homeowners, tradies, staff on a job site — who’d never been on camera before.
You learn pretty quickly how to put someone at ease, ask the right question the right way, and get something real out of them instead of a stiff, over-rehearsed answer. That’s a skill that doesn’t show up on a spec sheet, but it’s probably the most useful thing I bring to a corporate interview or talking-head shoot — getting someone who’s nervous in front of a camera to actually relax and sound like themselves.
